The story behind the figure of King Jaume I is the story of a child that became orphan at an early age. He was raised by the Knights Templar and at the age of 21 he proved his courage by conquering Mallorca, which was under Muslim rule. King Jaume I devoted his life to christianizing by military force. He achieved many victories, which made him one of the most important kings of the European Medieval period. 800 years have gone by… and he continues to be the most significant historical figure of Mallorca.
